Bomb Scare On Vistara Flight To Srinagar Quickly Defused, Operations Back To Normal

Despite the disruption, all passengers are reported to be safe, and the situation is being handled with the utmost priority to ensure their security.

New Delhi: A Vistara flight bound for Srinagar, carrying 177 passengers and one infant, received a bomb threat on Friday, prompting swift action by the airline and security forces. Flight UK-611, which departed from Delhi, landed safely at Srinagar Airport at approximately 12:10 AM. 

Officials present at the airport said that following the security protocol, CISF evacuated the aircraft immediately after its arrival and conducted a thorough search of the aircraft and its surroundings.

"All passengers were safely de-boarded at the isolation bay. The aircraft is currently undergoing a thorough security check by the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of all concerned," an airport official told ANI.

Despite the disruption, all passengers are reported to be safe, and the situation is being handled with the utmost priority to ensure their security.

Authorities are currently investigating the source of the bomb threat and are taking all necessary measures to ensure the continued safety of air travel.

As per reports, passengers and crew members were evacuated to a safe place during the investigation. Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs were deployed to carefully examine the aircraft for any suspicious objects.

After a thorough search, no explosives were found in the plane. Security measures have been stepped up to ensure continued security of all flights transiting through Srinagar International Airport although it is still not clear from where and which number the bomb was reported.
