Images and videos of Rakesh Tikait lying in the waterlogged area, as a mark of protest, are going viral. Check out below.

Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) spokesperson Rakesh Tikait and his supporters staged a protest and sat at a water-logged flyway at Ghazipur near the Uttar Pradesh-Delhi border. The constant downpour in Delhi-NCR caused flooding at the Ghazipur border and destroyed the tents and other makeshift structures that were set up by farmers protesting against the three agricultural laws.

New Delhi experienced heavy rainfall on Sunday which led to flooding in various parts of the city including the Ghazipur border. The protesting farmers blamed the authorities for not cleaning the drains at the Ghazipur border that led to this flooding.

Images of Rakesh Tikait lying in the waterlogged area, as a mark of protest, are going viral.

"BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait continued the protest while sitting on the waterlogged road stretch. We have been demanding that the drains going towards Delhi from here be cleaned but the authorities concerned never paid heed to it," BKU media in-charge Dharmendra Malik said. to PTI.

"Now the protesting farmers have seen all three seasons (winter, summer and rains). The farmers are not going to get scared by anything now," said Mr Malik.

The farmers have been protesting against three "controversial" laws, namely, Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, Farmers' (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020 since 26 November 2020 on the borders of Delhi.
