BJP Parliamentary Party Meeting To Be Held Today. PM Modi To Attend, All MPs Asked To Be Present

In today’s meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP National head JP Nadda will also be present among other party leaders.

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party will hold a parliamentary party meeting today at 9:30 am at the Ambedkar International Centre. The party has asked all its Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs to be present in the meeting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the BJP parliamentary party meeting.

The party will review its performance in the recently concluded assembly elections in the five states. BJP won in four of the five states it contested this year. Punjab was lost to Aam Aadmi Party with BJP securing only two seats. 

On the other hand, the party won a sweeping majority in the other four states, namely Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur.  In UP, BJP bagged 255 out of 403 seats, 47 out of 70 in Uttarakhand, 32 out of 60 in Manipur, and 20 out of 40 in Goa. 

The last such BJP Parliamentary party meeting was held on 21 December 2021,  which was also attended by the Prime Minister. In that meeting, the PM had expressed his concern about the attendance of BJP MPs in both upper and lower houses. 

The PM had warned the MPs that they cannot bring change if they do want to change themselves. 

In today’s meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP National head JP Nadda will also be present among other party leaders.

The meeting comes when of the second phase of the Budget session of the parliament which began on March 14, Monday. The Budget session will conclude on April 8.
