BJP Leader Shrikant Tyagi Caught On Camera 'Assaulting' Woman In Noida Housing Society, Booked
Viral Video: Shrikant Tyagi, who is also a national executive member of the BJP Kisan Morcha, is also seen pushing the woman and abusing her.
A video of BJP leader Shrikant Tyagi threatening and assaulting a resident of Grand Omaxe housing complex in Noida's Sector 93 has gone viral. In the video, tweeted by Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair, Tyagi can be seen arguing with the woman after she objected to plantation of some trees by him, citing violation of rules.
Tyagi was later booked by the Noida Police. "Shrikant Tyagi has been booked under Indian Penal Code section 354 (assault or use of criminal force on any woman, intending to outrage or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby outrage her modesty)," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women Safety) Ankita Sharma told PTI.
Tyagi, who is also a national executive member of the BJP Kisan Morcha, is also seen pushing the woman and abusing her as the matter comes to a boil. Other residents are then seen pulling the woman back.
A local police team was sent to the housing society in the evening but Tyagi did not open the doors of his house, PTI reported. "He was threatening to unleash his pet dogs on the police officials, which was preventing his arrest. The police team was waiting outside his house," a official told PTI.
The video has garnered over 9,500 views, with netizens expressing ire over Tyagi's behaviour and demanding an FIR against him.

This is not the first time that Shrikant Tyagi has been in the news for all the wrong reasons.
In 2019, a video emerged on social media showing the security personnel of Tyagi abusing a group of residents in Grand Omaxe after they protested over alleged illegal construction by the BJP leader.
A week later, the Noida Authority issued a notice to Tyagi, and asked him to remove within 15 days all "illegal" construction carried out by him in the park and common area of Grand Omaxe housing society, TOI reported.
The notice came after the Grand Omaxe Association of Apartment Owners (GOAAO) approached the Noida Authority CEO and complained about Tyagi carrying out construction of a wall in the common area, unauthorised construction in the basement, raising height of boundary wall and spoiling the symmetry of the flat he owns in the society.
The residents had also given a letter to the Gautam Budh Nagar SSP, demanding that an FIR be lodged against Tyagi and his security guards.
