Bihar Unlock 4: Educational Institutions Allowed To Reopen, Restaurants To Operate At 50% Capacity

The Bihar government has issued new unlock guidelines and has allowed colleges and universities to reopen.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced guidelines for phase 4 unlock after huge decreases in Covid cases in the state.  Bihar CM said that after reviewing the corona situation, it has been decided to provide further relaxation in the state as the Unlock 3 comes to an end on July 6.

These are the new guidelines issued by the Bihar government:

  • All government, non-government offices to open normally. Vaccinated visitors will be able to enter the office.
  • Universities, all colleges, technical educational institutions, government training institutes, schools up to class XI and XII will open with 50% attendance of students.
  • Special arrangements will be made for vaccination for adult students, teachers, and staff of educational institutions.
  • Restaurants and eateries can be operated with 50% seating capacity following all Covid guidelines.

It is being speculated that in the next guideline, the government may allow the classes up to class IX and X to function on a normal basis. However, with the new guidelines of the government, the hope of returning to educational institutions for the students has increased. The coaching institutes for competitive exams will now be able to open. However, they will have to comply with the new Covid guidelines.

According to the latest health bulletin, Bihar has registered 109 new Covid cases and 211 recoveries in the last 24 hours.The state's recovery rate is at 98.47 per cent which is higher than the Centre.
