Regarding meeting the Chief Minister, Tejashwi Yadav had said on Thursday that he would take out time to meet the Chief Minister and put two important proposals in front of him, which are in the interest of Bihar.

He had said that if the Chief Minister himself is in favour of the caste census, then like the Karnataka government got the count done at its own expense. They should also announce that the Bihar government is conducting a caste census at its own expense.

Caste census is not getting green signal from Centre

It may be noted that the demand for conducting caste census in Bihar has been arising for a long time. In this regard, the resolution has been passed unanimously twice by the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is in favour of this. But the caste census is not getting the green signal from the central government.

BJP says there should be poverty census

On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has now come out in the open against the caste census. BJP MLC Sanjay Paswan said that there should be a poverty census in the country and not a caste census.

On Friday, riding a rickshaw, BJP MLC Sanjay Paswan reached the assembly with a placard hanging around his neck. He answered questions of the media before entering the assembly. He said no one knows the number of poor in the country so far. In such a situation, those who want to divide society after conducting the caste census should understand that the country has the highest number of poor people. Therefore, the poor should be counted.
