Bihar: Police attacked after truck rams over 17-year-old in Bhagalpur

New Delhi: Bihar police on Wednesday fell prey to a mob’s violence in Bhagalpur. The incident took place after a student lost his life in a road accident, post which a mob hurled stones at a police team which reached the spot. The incident left several police officials injured. The mob got angry after a truck loaded with small stones ran over a 17-year-old Anjit Kumar in Bhagalpur’s Pirpainti; leaving him dead on the spot.   Deceased Anjit Kumar was returning after dropping his friend to his house in Gangarampur. As soon as Kumar’s bike reached close to Sadhu Madthiya, all of a sudden one over loaded truck coming from the wrong side rammed over him, leaving him dead. Soon after the incident, the police reached the spot, which were attacked brutally by the mob. The incident left several police officials injured. One of the SIs also got injured during the incident. The cops are now probing the case and are trying to find out the people who hurled stones at them. More details on the same are awaited.
