Ayodhya Ram Temple To Open For Public From Tomorrow — Check Aarti, Darshan Timings

Starting from Tuesday, a ritual for the worship of Ram Lalla has been established under the code name "Shri Ramopasana."

New Delhi: The Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be opened to the general public from Tuesday (January 23). Thousands of devotees are expected to visit the temple town daily for the 'darshan' of Ram Lalla.

Earlier in the day, the much-awaited Pran Pratistha of Ram Lalla was held in Ayodhya, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the rituals in the newly built temple. PM Modi unveiled the idol of Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum at the temple.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present.

The inauguration of Ram temple holds a significant religious moment as Hindus believe Ayodhya to be the birthplace of Lord Ram and the building of the temple, after a prolonged wait of 500 years, has been heralded as Ram returning to his rightful place.

Starting from Tuesday, a ritual for the worship of Ram Lalla has been established under the code name "Shri Ramopasana."

Here's All About The Rituals-

  • Preparations for worship and adornment of Lord Ram will commence from 3 am every morning.

  • During the Bramha Muhurta, between 3 am and 4 am, there will be cleaning, worship, and adornment of the sanctum sanctorum.

  • Between 3:30 and 4 am, both deities will be awakened with mantras. After this, there will be Mangala Aarti.

  • Subsequently, there will be the consecration and adornment of the idols and offering of bhog.

  • Shringar Aarti will follow from 4:30 to 5 am.

  • Darshan for the general public will begin at 8 am.

  • In the afternoon, around 1 pm, there will be the Bhog Aarti. Darshan will be closed from 1 pm to 3 pm. During this time, Lord Ram will rest.

  • Darshan will resume from 3 pm and will continue until 10 pm.

  • Evening Aarti will be held at 7 pm.

  • Ram Lalla will be offered fruits and milk every hour.

Lord Ram Lalla's Clothes

  • The color of Ram Lalla's clothes will vary according to the day.

  • Ram Lalla will wear white clothes on Monday.

  • Lord Ram will wear red on Tuesday, green on Wednesday, yellow on Thursday, light yellow or cream on Friday, blue on Saturday, and pink on Sunday.

  • But on special occasions, Lord Ram will wear yellow clothes.

Gifts For The Guests

A special set of items have been gifted to guests which include a book on Ayodhya, a metal ‘diya’, a Tulsi ‘mala’, and a scarf bearing the name of Lord Ram.

The book is titled ‘Ayodhya Dham - The Lord's Abode’ which also carries the image of the old idol of Ram Lalla on its cover. The ‘mala’ has come up with a fabric pouch that bears ‘Uttar Pradesh Tourism’ and its tagline.

The gifts were in a bag that had a striking graphic image of the new temple and of Lord Ram in a very young avatar.

The guests also received a box of four laddoos, chips, revdi, cashew nuts, and raisins.

The magnificent temple has been constructed in the traditional Nagara style. Its length (east-west) is 380 feet, width 250 feet, and will eventually rise to 161 feet (shikhar).

It is supported by 392 pillars and has 44 doors. The pillars and walls of the temple showcase intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities, gods and goddesses.
