New Delhi: The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, launched in 1998, aims to provide farmers with financial support. The scheme specifically designed by NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) ensures short-term formal loans to farmers to help them receive timely financial aid and support from the banking system. With KCC, owner cultivators as well as tenant farmers can avail loans to meet their agricultural needs under this scheme at attractive rates of interest. How to apply for Kisan Credit Card? Farmers seeking Kisan Credit Card may visit a bank of their choice and seek help from a bank official. The official will help the applicant in briefing about the scheme, its features and benefits, documents required and procedure to fill out the form. If eligible, the bank will process the application and you will call you in 3-4 working days to let you know the further steps in the application process. You will be informed get the required documents to the bank to process the application. After the successful verification of the documents submitted, the bank will send the credit card to your registered address. How to apply for Kisan Credit Card online? STEP 1: Visit the official website of your preferred bank and visit their Kisan Credit Card section. STEP 2: Click on ‘Apply’ button. You will be redirected to an application form. STEP 3: Dully fill all the required fields with accurate details STEP 4: Click on ‘Submit’ button STEP 5: Once the application is submitted, you will get an application reference number. Make a note of the same for future reference. List of documents required while applying for Kisan Credit Card: Duly filled in and signed application form Copy of Identity proof: Voter ID card / PAN card / Passport / Aadhaar card / Driving License etc Copy of Address proof: Voter ID card / Passport / Aadhaar card / Driving license etc Land documents Passport size photo of the applicant Note: The address proof must have the present address of the applicant to be valid. Who is eligible to apply for Kisan Credit Card? All farmers – individuals/Joint cultivator owners Tenant farmers, oral lessees and share croppers. SHGs or Joint liability groups including tenant farmers Note: The person applying for Kisan Credit Card should have a minimum age of 18 years and maximum 75 years till the end of the loan period. Applicants over 60 years of age, must have a co-applicant.
