Amid Shiv Sena Vs Koshiyari Tussle, Uttarakhand CM Offers Plane To Maharashtra Governor For Return Journey

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari had to deboard a Maharashtra government aircraft after sitting in it for about 30 minutes on Thursday when he was told there was no permission for the flight.

After the Maharashtra government refused Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari to provide a government plane for his visit to Uttarakhand, a huge tussle has been going on between Shiv Sena and BJP. The Uddhav led party also shared an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamna claiming the Bhagat Singh Koshiyari is acting like BJP's puppet instead of following state government norms.

Now, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari will be given a plane by the Uttarakhand government to return to Mumbai if he desires so.

Terming the treatment meted out to Koshyari at the Mumbai airport by the Maharashtra government as "misuse of power", Rawat said, "A governor is not an individual but the constitutional head of a state and representative of the President.

Respect should be shown to his office as per the conventions in a democracy. "He (Koshyari) will be given a state plane by the Uttarakhand government to return to Mumbai if he asks for it," Rawat said.

Condemning the way Koshyari was treated by the Maharashtra government, state BJP president Bansidhar Bhagat said, "It was shameful on part of the Maharashtra government to treat him like this. It shows how little it cares for democratic norms."

What is the complete matter?

Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari wanted to go to Uttarakhand on Thursday. He reached the airport and sat in a government plane but did not get any information regarding the permission to board the plane. According to sources,  the General Administration Department which works under the Chief Minister, Koshiyari was denied permission to fly on the state government aircraft. As Per Koshiyar, no information was provided to him from the department.  After this, the Maharashtra governor got off the plane and sat in the VIP zone for about half an hour. He then decided that he would not use the government aircraft and used a private one.

BJP leaders have criticised the Maharashtra government for not allowing Bhagat Singh Koshiyari to board the state government plane.
