In order to bring more transparency in public transport and quell doubts of passengers with their PNR status and enquiries, Mumbai-based startup Railofy has come up with an innovative solution. The application allows passengers to easily receive real-time passenger name record (PNR) status and train journey details directly on Whatsapp. The home-grown developed app aims to provide convenience to the cumbersome and time-consuming experience of searching for the PNR status and other train journey details such as live station alerts, delays, etc. How it will help railway passengers? Unlike before passengers who had the option to dial the railway helpline number 139 for live train status, there is an easier facility at their disposal. Normally, a passenger availing IRCTC ticket services typically checks his/her PNR Status around 10 to 20 times before the journey date, as per Railofy. The new feature of checking real-time PNR status, will give you regular updates and view the live train operations status or PNR status on Whatsapp number. Step-by-step procedure to check the PNR status on WhatsApp -Firstly, you have to update the WhatsApp application on your phone. Android users can update the app from the Play Store and iPhone users can update it from the App store. -Then save Railofy's train enquiry number '+91-9881193322' on your mobile phone. In the next step, you have to go to WhatsApp and click on the new message button to open your contacts list. -Next you have to choose the Railofy contact and type in your 10 digit PNR number in the message window. -You have to simply send the PNR number to Railofy. -You will receive alerts and real-time updates about your train journey and status on WhatsApp.
