'Taught Him To Walk, He Trampled Over Us': Shivpal's Tweet Declares War Against Akhilesh Yadav
Shivpal's recent remarks came amid reports of a rift with nephew Akhilesh after the former was not invited for a meeting of SP MLAs in March.
Lucknow: In what can be seen as an apparent dig at Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, who is also his nephew, socialist leader Shivpal Singh Yadav on Tuesday said that he compromised on his self-respect to 'satisfy' him, but got only 'pain' in return.
Shivpal's recent remarks came amid reports of a rift with nephew Akhilesh after the former was not invited for a meeting of SP MLAs in March.
Taking to Twitter, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSPL) chief wrote: "We taught him how to walk and he went on trampling us."
"I descended to the lowest point of self-respect to satisfy him and if I am still angry with him, one can realize the extent to which he has hurt me. We taught him to walk and he trampled over us. Once again, hoping for reorganization, self-confidence and cooperation from all -Eid Mubarak!", Shivpal tweeted in Hindi without taking anyone's name in his tweet.

Shivpal's hard-hitting tweets comes on a day when the world is celebrating Eid, a festival of peace and brotherhood.
Reacting to the remarks, a senior SP MLA expressed concern and said that the party is now heading for a split. Our Muslim leaders are already vocal about their dissatisfaction with Akhilesh's leadership and now that Shivpal has left nothing to imagination, bad days are here for the party," news agency IANS quoted the MLA as saying.
The rift between Akhilesh and his estranged uncle Shivpal is said to be growing wider by the day. On the speculations of Shivpal joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Akhilesh had said that if BJP wants to take 'Chacha' (uncle), then they should not delay it.
"I have no issues with chacha ji (Shivpal), but the BJP should explain why it is so happy about him. Why are BJP leaders thinking so much about taking him? Why are BJP people delaying taking Chacha ji? You should think about what could be the reason behind this," the former UP CM told reporters.
Shivpal responded by terming Akhilesh's statement as "irresponsible and childish". After parting ways with SP in 2017, Shivpal rejoined the party and had contested the recent state Assembly elections on the SP symbol from the Jaswantnagar seat.
Though he ended up with the seat, but the SP-led coalition had to face a humiliating defeat in polls to the alliance headed by the BJP.
