After Floor-Test, Ajay Maken Replaces Avinash Pandey As Congress General Secretary In-Charge Of Rajasthan

Speaking on this note, Maken thanked Congress President Sonia Gandhi and vowed to leave no stone unturned to further strengthen the Congress Party in Rajasthan.

The Congress Party on Sunday August 16, appointed its senior leader Ajay Maken as the general secretary in-charge of Rajasthan in place of Avinash Pandey. In an official letter, the All India Congress Committee said: Hon'ble Congress President has appointed Shri Ajay Maken as the general Secretary In-Charge of Rajasthan in place of Shri Avinash Pandey with immediate effect. In the notice, the Congress party further thanked Avinash Pandey for all his contributions towards the party. As per the reports, the grand old party also set up a three-member committee comprising senior party leader Ahmed Patel, AICC general secretary in-charge, Organisation KC Venugopal and AICC general secretary in-charge Rajasthan Ajay Maken, to further resolve the recent issues raised by some MLAs in Rajasthan.

The development in the Rajasthan politics has come at the time when the two contrasting factions led by CM Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot in the Rajasthan government earlier this week called it an end to the long-going tussle ahead of the state assembly session. It can be recalled that Pilot had demanded the removal of Avinash Pandey as the Rajasthan general secretary in-charge, seeking a new committee to address the grievances of dissident MLAs on rejoining the party. Today as soon as the party announced the joining of Ajay Maken in place of Avinash, Pilot extended his heartfelt gratitude and warmly welcomed him. Taking to his Twitter account, Pilot said: Heartiest congratulations to Mr Ajay Maken on being appointed as General Secretary in-charge of Rajasthan. Your appointment will definitely boost the expectations of Rajasthan Congress workers. I also welcome Ajay Maken ji to Veer Bhoomi Rajasthan with a bright future.

Sachin Pilot was sacked from his of Rajasthan Deputy CM and the chief of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) soon after the RPCC was dissolved by Avinash Pandey on July 15.
