60 Employees Of An IT Company In Bengaluru Laid Off; Founder Denies Claims

Recently around 60 employees of an IT Company have been allegedly removed without any prior notice. The company has not provided any genuine reason for the dismissal of the employees

BENGALURU: The Indian economy is stumbling due to the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak, and in that millions of jobs, across different sectors, are also on the line. The Indian startup ecosystem is also gazing at frightful losses. Many of the startup companies are instituting layoffs or pay cuts as the fear is getting intensified. Recently around 60 employees of an IT Company have been allegedly removed without any prior notice. The company has not provided any genuine reason for the dismissal of the employees. Simplilearn an IT company asked its 60 employees to take a resign from the Bengaluru office. The employees working in the Bengaluru office declined to resign from the company. To this, the company has cut down all the accesses and told its employees to return the laptop. Amidst this Coronavirus crisis majority of the employees are working from home. Yamini an employee of the Simplilearn company stated initially the employees of our company were asked to work from home but after a few days, they were not allowed to work and were asked to resign. In response to this Kashyap Dalal, the co-founder of the Simplilearn stated, "We haven't removed any employees or we have not asked anybody else to go, these are people who have resigned themselves and it is more after serving the notice period. That is false news and some people trying to create an issue where is none."
