4 Migrant Labourers Die In Delhi After MCD Truck Loses Balance And Topples On Them: Police
Four migrant labourers died in Delhi's Anand Parbat area after an MCD truck lost balance and toppled on them.
Four people died after a truck met with an accident near the city's Anand Parbat area on Friday night, reported ANI citing police. The police said that on reaching the spot at Rohtak road, they found one MCD truck that had turned turtle.
"Three were dead on spot & one person succumbed to his injuries at the hospital," police said, as quoted by ANI.
"It was revealed by the eyewitnesses that the speeding truck lost balance and toppled on the labourers indulged in the construction of a road. All are migrant labourers from Tikam Garh, Madhya Pradesh. The driver who might be injured is yet to be traced. Further probe underway," the police added, reported ANI.
In another incident, seven people were killed after two trucks collided in Odisha's Jajpur on Saturday. The incident occurred on NH-16 near Neulpur under Dharmasala Police limits of Jajpur, as reported by the news agency ANI. Police said a Kolkata-bound truck carrying seven persons had collided with a stationary truck.
"Six died on the spot and another one who was shifted to S.C.B medical college Cuttack succumbed to injury. The total number of death rose to seven who hail from West Bengal," Sanjoy Pattanaik, SDPO said, as quoted by ANI. After getting the information about the incident Dharmasala Police and the fire brigade reached the spot for the rescue operation.
"We are trying to identify the bodies. Postmortem will be conducted at Barachana C.HC, of Jajpur," the SDPO said, as quoted by ANI.
In Chhattisgarh, three District Reserve Guard (DRG) officials were killed during an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Sukma district on Saturday, reported news agency ANI. The deceased include ASI Ramuram Nag, Assistant Constable Kunjam Joga and Sainik Vanjam Bheema.
