4.2 magnitude earthquake strikes Jammu and Kashmir, minor tremors felt in nearby areas

Jammu: An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter Scale hit Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning, according to the ANI. Light tremors were also felt from the nearby areas. However, no casualty or damage to property was reported.
On February 12, an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale struck the Bay of Bengal, according to the US Geological Survey. Light tremors after the earthquake were also felt in Chennai where people took to social media to report the quake. However, no casualty or damage to property was reported
According to USGS, the epicentre was 10 km below sea level and the quake struck about 609 km away from Chennai. In the past, earthquakes have occurred mostly in the region around the Andaman and Nicobar islands.
New age earthquake forecasting website Ditrianum, run by researcher Frank Hoogerbeets, had predicted that a planetary alignment within the solar system on January 29 and 30 will cause widespread destruction Earth as it will trigger major quakes in the second two weeks of February.
This is because the “positions of Uranus and Neptune: are tugging on the Earth’s tectonic plates, increasing tension which will eventually be unleashed, said the researcher. According to a report by Express, Mars is moving in line with Uranus and Neptune on either side of our planet, causing a gravitational tug-of-war in our galactic neighbourhood.
