Red Zone Districts In Maharashtra: Covid-19 Cases Cross 10K Mark
The total number of Covid-19 cases now stands at 10,498. Maharashtra has the maximum number of Red Zone districts among all states.

Red Zone districts in Maharashtra: In a much awaited revised list released by the government on Friday, it has divided the states and districts into different categories as red, orange and green based on the how the regions are affected by the outbreak of Covid-19. The demarcation of areas as containment zones will eventually help the government decide upon the lifting of the lockdown after May 3 and whether the lockdown will be extended in some regions with a blanket ban on activities. According to the list from the ministry of health, all metro zones including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad will be declared as the red zone. All metros will remain in Red Zone even after May 3. The segregation has been based on various factors including the number of cases, doubling rate, extent of testing and surveillance feedback. Maharashtra has topped the number of Covid-19 cases in the country and crossed the milestone of 10,000. The total number of Covid-19 cases now stands at 10,498. Maharashtra has the maximum number of Red Zone districts among all states. Around 459 deaths have been reported in the state till date. Mortality Rate stands at 4.37 per cent . The list has identified 14 districts in red zones, 16 orange zones, six green zones of the total 36 zones in Maharasthra. Here is the list of districts identified in different zones. It's only about starting the treatment on time. From few days old babies to 83 years old people have recovered and gone home. People on ventilators have also recovered well: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
