Now A ‘Godse’ Library! Hindu Mahasabha’s Bizarre Step Sparks Controversy, Says 'He Was True Nationalist'

The Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha opens Godse Gyan Shala in Gwalior dedicated to share the articles, speeches written by Godse.

New Delhi: Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha on Sunday opened a library in Gwalior marking the occasion of Vishwa Hindi Diwas which will be dedicated to the life and ideology of Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse. Contents of the library includes his articles, speeches and also the literature about how Godse plotted the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. It is opened in the Mahasabha's office in Daulat Ganj, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Gwalior was where Godse plotted to assassinate Gandhi. It was also where he purchased the pistol which later became the murder weapon. Godse did not believe in one god which was primary to all of Gandhi’s teachings. According to the Mahasabha, Godse was a true nationalist and it aims to show that he stood for an undivided India. The Mahasabha also hopes to  instil true nationalism which Godse stood for in today’s ignorant youth. Later, protem Speaker Rameshwar Sharma said on Sunday “It was Mahatma Gandhi’s mistake that Mohammad Ali Jinnah succeeded in dividing India into two parts,” he told reporters in Bhopal according to News18.
Nathuram Vinayakrao Godse was born into a Maharashtrian Chitpavan Brahmin family. He was born on May 19th, 1910 in Pune, Maharashtra. After dropping out of high school Nathuram Godse became a part of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (R.S.S), which is a Hindu nationalist, paramilitary organization, and the political party Hindu Mahasabha. He became Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s secretary, working under him Godse learned how to read and write in English, he also learned how to deliver speeches. Godse and M. S. Golwalkar who later became the RSS chief translated Babarao Savarkar's book "Rashtra Mimansa" into English.
