FB Mondial HPS 300 Deliveries To Commence Soon

The HPS 300 is brought to our shores via the CKD route and retails for Rs 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Italian brand FB Mondial recently made its debut in our country. The iconic Italian marquee has been brought to our shores by Kinetic Group’s new venture Motoroyale. Currently only one bike is available on sale in India from its portfolio, the HPS 300, which has been priced at Rs 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). According to Ajinkya Firodia, MD, Motoroyale, the company has received around 100 bookings for the motorcycle. The first lot of bikes have arrived in India and will be assembled soon at its Ahmednagar plant and deliveries for the first lot is expected to be completed by January, 2019. The FB Mondial motorcycles are brought to India as CKD (completely knocked down) units. This is one of the prime reasons for the high asking price of the HPS 300 in India. When we asked Cesare Galli, the man responsible for resurrecting the brand back, about localisation for the FB Mondial bikes in India, he mentioned that it’s too early and he wants to position the Italian marquee as a premium brand for now.

Coming back to the HPS 300, its fabulous design is one among its long list of highlights. The fusion of a scrambler and a café scrambler makes the HPS 300 look distinct and unique. It’s powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor producing 25hp at 9,000rpm and 22Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed gearbox. It employs a chunky 41mm USD fork at the front and twin-shock absorbers at the rear. Braking hardware consists of a 280mm disc at the front and a 220mm unit at the back, while ABS comes as standard fitment. Seat height is pretty low at 785mm and weighs just 135kg (dry weight). While the FB Mondial HPS 300 doesn’t have any direct rivals until the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 arrives on our shores, but, with respect to pricing the BMW G 310 R is its only competitor, currently.
