Delhi's E-Token Website For Liquor Sale Crashes Second Time; Portal Displays 'Error 404'

In order to maintain the norms of social distancing, Delhi government came up with the system of e-tokens. An official online portal has been launched to systematically sell liquor in the national capital.

Liquor Shops In Delhi: The official website launched by Delhi Government to attain e-tokens in order to purchase liquor in national capital has crashed for the second time since its launch on Thursday. The official link issued by the Arvind Kejriwal government - www.qtoken.in - did not work for many on Thursday and has continued to show server error on Friday evening as well. Since the day Chief Minister decided to allow sale of liquor in Delhi, the national capital witnessed thousands of people rushing to streets and gathering in serpentine queues in order to buy alcohol. During the course, there was a complete violation of social distancing in front of many shops. In order to maintain the norms of social distancing, Delhi government came up with the system of e-token and an online portal was launched to systematically sell liquor in the national capital. The benefit of the e-token is that in an hour only 50 persons are allowed to the store, this will ensure social distancing, there is a separate line for those who have an e-token and a separate for those who don’t However, it seems that the Delhi government hasn’t been able to handle the website, or presumably, there have been too many requests as the portal once again crashed on Friday evening. Since the launch of the website, this is the second time that it showed Server Error 404. The portal did not work for many of Thursday night and continued to trouble customers on next day. Delhi has 864 liquor shops of which, only 172 government-owned shops have been allowed to operate. At least 475 shops are owned by government departments ranging from tourism to industrial and infrastructure development. The other 389 are owned by private individuals and enterprises.
