Car Flips 5 Times On Highway In Bihar, Four Escape Unhurt

Four passengers escaped unhurt after their car flipped five times in Bihar; truck fled the accident scene. Locals helped.

In a miraculous turn of events, four passengers walked away unscathed after their car flipped five times in a freak accident on a highway in Bihar's Rohtas district on Sunday morning.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV, providing a dramatic view of the crash. "The Maruti Suzuki Alto first collided with a speeding truck and then rolled over to the side of the road," the footage revealed.

"In the footage, the white Alto car can be seen flipping five times before it landed on its left side, vertically."

Passersby quickly responded to the scene. "Some locals then rushed to flip the car straight and help the passengers, the video showed." According to officials, the locals immediately administered first aid.

The passengers were reportedly en route to Banaras when the accident occurred. Remarkably, "there are no reports of any injuries to the passengers."

However, the truck involved in the crash fled the scene and has not yet been traced.

This incident sheds light on the grim statistics surrounding road safety in India. According to data released last year by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, "over 7.77 lakh people died across India in road accidents during the 2018-2022 period." The annual report on Road Accidents in India-2022 stated that "at least 462 people died in road accidents in India every day in 2022." In Bihar alone, "36,191 fatalities were reported due to road accidents in five years."
