The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) is set to hold its annual convention in Maharashtra, commencing from Friday, with a key focus on 'Inbound Tourism and Emerging Sustainable Trends,' as announced by the event organisers.
During the second day of the convention, discussions will revolve around the dynamics of inbound tourism and the collaboration between hotels and tour operators, according to Rajiv Mehra, Chairman of IATO, who conveyed this information during a press conference held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Wednesday, as reported by news agency PTI.
Mehra also highlighted that on the third day of the convention, a dedicated session will explore the prospects of 'Exploring Maharashtra - new dimensions and opportunities.' In attendance at the press conference, District Guardian Minister Sandipan Bhumre emphasized the importance of improving air connectivity between Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and various cities, with the aim of increasing tourist footfall to the region, the report said.
Ambadas Danve, Leader of the Opposition in the state legislative council, expressed pride in bringing such an event to a two-tier city like Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, underscoring its potential to bolster the local economy and offer tour operators a firsthand experience of the region's historical monuments and attractions, as per the report.
