Breaking News Live: Centre Extends Covid-Related Restrictions Across India Till November 30

Background

Breaking News LIVE, October 28, 2021: Hello and Welcome to ABP News LIVE Blog!Around 11 crore people who have taken the first shot of COVID-19 vaccine have not got themselves jabbed with the second dose even after the expiry of the prescribed interval between two doses, according to government data shared by PTI.

The data showed that over 3.92 crore beneficiaries are more than six weeks overdue for their second Covid dose, around 1.57 crore are up to four to six weeks late, and more than 1.50 crore are up to two to four weeks overdue for their second shot of either Covishield or Covaxin.

Also, over 3.38 crore people are up to two weeks overdue to becoming fully vaccinated.

This issue was discussed in a meeting chaired by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya with health ministers and representatives of all states and Union territories on Wednesday. They were asked to focus on such beneficiaries who are overdue for their second dose, official sources said.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Wednesday drew parallels between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and German dictator Adolf Hitler and alleged that BJP is destroying India just like Hitler destroyed Germany.

Taking to Twitter, the Congress leader said, "The final phase of the election has arrived. Now everyone in BJP will say "Hinduism is in danger, vote for BJP to save it." BJP does the same thing Hitler used to do. BJP is destroying India just like Hitler destroyed Germany."
