PM Modi To Launch 5G Services On Saturday
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 5G services on October 1 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. PM Modi will also inaugurate the sixth edition of the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC). The IMC 2022 is scheduled to be held from 1st to 4th October with the theme of “New digital Universe”.
It will bring together leading thinkers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and government officials to discuss and showcase unique opportunities emerging from the rapid adoption and spread of digital technology, PMO said in a staement.
Railways To Release New All-India Time Table
The Railways will release a new all-India time table for trains which will come into effect from October 1, the national transporter said. The 'Trains At A Glance (TAG)' will be released on the railway's official website www.indianrailways.gov.in.
As a part of digitalisation of train Time Table, Trains at a Glance (TAG) will now also be available as "e-Book" which can be downloaded from IRCTC website (www.irctc.co.in & www.irctctourism.com).
The time table will also reflect the 106 new services introduced during 2021-22, 212 services extended and frequency of 24 services increased.
A slew of premium trains has also been introduced like the Vande Bharat Express trains which are operating from New Delhi to Varanasi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. One more Vande Bharat Express train has been introduced between Gandhinagar and Mumbai.
President To Give 'Swachh Survekshan' Award To Cleanest Cities
The Centre's annual awards for the cleanest cities will be handed out by President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday, the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
The Swachh Survekshan 2022, or cleanliness survey, covered 100% of municipal wards for sampling this time -- a first -- as opposed to 40 per cent in previous years, the Ministry said. Over 160 awards across various categories would be presented.
New Credit And Debit Card Rules From October 1
New credit card rules are set to be implemented from October 1. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued new credit rules in April 2022.
The new rule makes it mandatory for all credit and debit card data used in online, point-of-sale, and in-app transactions to be replaced with tokens by September 30 this year.
Earlier, the deadline was extended by three months starting in July. This means that the full card number, CVV and expiry date, and any other sensitive information related to cards cannot be stored by merchants for processing online transactions.
