PM Modi To Speak At First Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture On Friday
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the first 'Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture' here on Friday in which Tharman Shanmugaratnam, a senior minister of the Singapore government, will deliver the keynote address on 'Growth through Inclusivity, Inclusivity through Growth,' the PMO said.
The event will see a panel discussion involving OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and Arvind Panagariya, a professor at the Columbia University. The PMO said the Ministry of Finance has organised the lecture in recognition of Jaitley's invaluable contribution to the nation.
A leading BJP functionary, Jaitley was the finance minister in the first Modi government. He was also a close associate of the prime minister. He died in 2019 at the age of 66. During the event, Modi will also interact with delegates participating in the Kautilya Economic Conclave (KEC), a three-day event being organised from July 8 to 10.
Maha CM To Visit Delhi Today, To Meet PM Modi, JP Nadda
Newly-appointed Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will embark on a two-day visit to Delhi on Friday. In Delhi, he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. This is Eknath Shinde’s first visit to Delhi since taking over as Chief Minister.
On the second day of the tour, he met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP president JP Nadda. According to reports, even Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will accompany Shinde on his first visit to the capital city
SC Agrees To Examine Mohammad Zubair's Plea Seeking Bail Today
Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair on Thursday moved the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad High Court's refusal to quash FIR registered against him for allegedly calling Hindu seers "hatemongers" and the top court agreed to list the matter on Friday.
Senior advocate Colin Gonsalves, representing Zubair, mentioned the matter before a vacation bench of Justices Indira Banerjee and J.K. Maheshwari and sought urgent hearing on the plea.

NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu is scheduled to meet Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs and MPs here on Friday to get their support for her election on July 18.
Murmu would meet the BJD MLAs and MPs at the Odisha Assembly conference hall at around 10.30 a.m. Murmu will meet the BJP legislators at the state Guest House, sources told news agency IANS.
She is also likely to meet BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the latter's residence Naveen Niwas.

Enforcement Directorate has issued summons to Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain's wife Poonam Jain next week in connection with a money-laundering probe, an official told news agency ANI.
According to reports, Jain's wife has been asked to appear before ED investigators at its headquarters on July 14.
