Home Minister Amit Shah To Campaign In Manipur On Monday

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to campaign in ethnic strife-torn Manipur on Monday, apart from visiting Tripura and Rajasthan to gather support for BJP candidates in the Lok Sabha polls, according to sources, PTI reported.

Shah is expected to address a rally in Imphal, urging voters to support Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh, the BJP's candidate from the Inner Manipur constituency. Singh, who serves as the education minister of Manipur, seeks election from this constituency, currently represented by BJP leader and Minister of State for External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.

The Inner Manipur Lok Sabha segment encompasses 32 Assembly constituencies situated in the strife-ridden Imphal valley.

Manipur witnessed ethnic turmoil starting May 3, 2023, following a tribal solidarity march in the state's hill districts protesting the Meitei community's quest for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. The unrest has led to more than 220 fatalities as of now.

Jagan Mohan Reddy To Resume Yatra From Monday

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is set to resume his 'Memantha Siddham yatra' on Monday after taking a day's rest following a stone attack during campaigning in Vijayawada.

According to YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) General Secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the Chief Minister remains steadfast despite the incident.

“CM Jagan has been advised by doctors to take rest today but he will resume back from tomorrow at the same pace to continue the bus yatra. The public eagerly awaits his return, ready to show their unwavering support and denounce such a heinous attack,” stated the ruling party leader.

Jagan Mohan Reddy sustained an injury on his left eyebrow when a stone struck him in the Ajith Singh Nagar area on Saturday.

During the 'Memantha Siddham Yatra', the Chief Minister was aboard a special campaign bus to greet people when unidentified individuals hurled stones.

Vijayawada West MLA Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao, who was standing alongside Jagan Mohan Reddy, also suffered an injury to his left eye.

Police have filed a case of attempted murder against unknown assailants and have initiated an investigation into the matter.

'Ek Jhatke Mein Garibi Hata Dunga': PM Modi's Comments On Rahul Gandhi

On Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi says to ANI, “Unfortunately, these days we see there is no commitment and responsibility towards one word. You must have seen old videos of a leader circulating, where his every thought is contradictory. When people see this, they think that this leader was trying to hoodwink the public. Lately, I heard a politician say “Ek jhatke mein garibi hata dunga”. Those who got a chance to be in power for 5-6 decades, when they say this, the country thinks what is this man saying."
