Ashok Dinda Attack: Former Cricketer & BJP Candidate Gets Y+ Category Security With 20 CRPF Jawans
A mob of around 50 people pelted stones on the car in which former cricketer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ashok Dinda was travelling while on his way back from campaigning for the ongoing West Bengal elections on Tuesday.
A day after being attacked by a mob in Moyna district, former cricketer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from West Bengal's East Midnapore Ashok Dinda was granted with Y+ category security. From now on, about 20 CRPF jawans will surround the BJP candidate.
The development has come after Dinda was attacked while on his way back from campaigning for the ongoing assembly elections in the state on Tuesday.

It is being said that a mob of around 50 people pelted stones on the car in which Dinda was traveling. The BJP candidate claimed that mob attacked his car and hit him on the back by a brick. the former pacer has sustained injuries on his back. It is alleged that his brother was also injured in the incident.
News agency PTI quoted his manager saying, "The incident happened right in front of Moyna Bazar when we were returning from a roadshow. There was one local TMC goon, Shahjahan Ali, who along with others, numbering more than a hundred, attacked with lathi, rods and bricks."
Dinda has accused Trinamool Congress for attack. He has even lodged a complaint against the TMC at the police station over the attack. However, the ruling party has denied the allegations.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India has sought a report from the district administration in connection with the attack on Ashok Dinda.
It is to be noted that the attack happened two days before the state goes for second phase of polling on Thursday (April 1) for the ongoing state assembly elections. First phase of polling was held on March 27 and the results will be declared on May 2.
