Good News For Mumbaikars! Aaditya Thackeray Tweets Worli Infected Now Recovering
Maharashtra is one of the worst affected states by the coronavirus in India. Worli MLA and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray had some good news for people worried about the rising cases in Mumbai. He announced on twitter those who were infected by the virus in Worli area are recovering.
Mumbai: Maharashtra is one of the worst affected states by the coronavirus in India. Within the state, reports say that the G-South Ward which includes Worli, Prabhadevi and Lower Parel had the maximum number of cases. In fact, leading daily The Hindu had also reported that Worli had over 20 percent of coronavirus cases in Mumbai. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared 381 containment zones out of which Worli- Koliwada was also a containment zone.
But Worli MLA and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray had some good news for people worried about the rising cases in Mumbai. He announced on twitter those who were infected by the virus in Worli area are recovering. In his Tweet he wrote in Marathi "Today over phone, I got in touch with some Worli residents who had contracted coronavirus. They have recovered and gone back to their homes. They are now fit. The way they have won the war against COVID-19, I am confident that our state and country will win this battle too."
According to data by the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs Mumbai has around 2916 confirmed cases. Before the Prime Minister’s address in which he extended the nationwide lockdown till May 3, Maharashtra chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had decided to extend the lockdown in Mumbai till April 30. Recently a woman from Worli committed suicide after testing positive for the virus. According to reports the 29-year-old was distraught over her reports and hanged herself in the bathroom of the local hospital in central Mumbai where she was admitted.
