The Story of Lord Dhanwantari

That is why he has the status of a deva chikitsak (Divine doctor). Dhanvantari Bhagwan was born from churning the sea. Lord Dhanvantari appeared from the churning of the sea on the date of Triyodashi of Kartik Mas. Lord Dhanvantari is also the author of many texts. The Dhanvantari Samhita was also composed by Dhanvantari Dev, which is considered to be the original book of Ayurveda.
