• Begin the day by waking up early, taking a bath, and thoroughly cleaning the area around your home temple. Set up a platform in the puja space and install an idol or picture of Lord Chitragupta. While performing the rituals, ensure that you are facing the east direction.
• First, light a ghee lamp in front of the idol. Then prepare Panchamrit using curd, milk, ghee, sugar, and honey. Keep a Kalash filled with water nearby, with tulsi leaves in it. Offer turmeric, sandalwood, flowers, fruits, sweets, and other offerings to the Lord.
• After the offerings, recite the Chitragupta Katha and then perform aarti of Lord Chitragupta.
• An important part of this puja is the presence of a pen, diary, and blank paper. During the ritual, draw a Swastika on the blank paper using roli and ghee, and write the names of deities on a new page in the diary with the pen, symbolising knowledge, record-keeping, and honesty.
