In the video, narrated by Vijay Deverakonda, the actor outlines the brand's philosophy, emphasising the importance of embracing and celebrating India's rich heritage and culture. The narrative asserts that India's historical prosperity was disrupted by external influences, and now it's time for the nation to reclaim its global respect.
"We are not here to play; we are here to take over and make the world say namaste," declares Vijay Deverakonda in the video. The brand aims to empower individuals with pride in their Indian identity, fostering a connection to the nation's cultural roots.
According to a press release, RWDY aims to reclaim India's historical status as leaders and trendsetters in the fashion and textile industry. Every RWDY piece is designed to symbolise the brand’s commitment to reclaiming Indian superiority in fashion, starting from the streets of India and reaching the streets of the world, it said.
The rebranded RWDY introduced a fresh logo and a new collection that captures the essence of Indian culture and heritage. The lotus, chosen as the symbol of the brand, holds significance in ancient traditions, religions, and mythology, it said. The collection, scheduled for release on December 6, promises a unique blend of contemporary street style with traditional Indian elements, the release added further.
The brand aims to make clothes that connect people to their roots, history, and inspire the world to appreciate Indian culture. RWDY envisions creating pieces that can be passed down to future generations, fostering a sense of pride and ownership, the statement said.
