Traits like ‘narcissism’ and ‘overconfidence’ make you desirable for dating: Study

New Delhi: You must have seen many instances where people dump their partners because of compatibility issues. They turn down their partners because of their ‘overconfident’ and ‘egoistic’ nature because of the popular belief that these traits can ruin the relationship. But, a recent study has revealed that people get attracted towards those who possess qualities like ‘narcissism’ and ‘overconfidence’. According to the study, people who own these qualities are more romantically desirable and are considered as potential long-term partners for dating. The study, published by the University of Graz in Austria, has established a link between overconfidence and dating, which has now contradicted the belief that such traits affect the relationships. People, who are overconfident are more likely to impress their partners by using these traits as their strength. The research was done, with the sample size of 90 people over social media, who were asked to be a part of 691 dates of around 3 minutes each. The participants were also asked to rate the physical attractiveness of others, with the help of their photographs. The result of the study revealed that both the men and women having these traits are the ideal partners for long term relationships. So, next time when you see people possessing these qualities, do not turn them down because maybe you were going to reject your future partner and this study helped you to judge your partner in a better way.
