Sarson Da Saag with Makki Di Roti:

The traditional dish of Punjab, that holds cultural significance, and is quit popular during the winter season. This dish is made from leaves of sarso along with palak and bathua, which compliments the roti made from corn flour. The dish is a burst of flavours and also provides the warmth that one needs during this time.

Gajar ka Halwa:
Gajar Ka Halwa is a popular Indian dessert that hails from North India. Grated carrots are skillfully cooked in ghee until they become tender and release their natural sweetness. The addition of whole milk contributes to the perfect consistency. It's a sweet dish that has a loads of nuts and ghee in itself. Carrot, ghee, and nuts provide the best taste and warmth to the body.

3. Undhiyu:

Undhiyu is a Gujrati dish which is made with mixed veggies, fenugreek, loads of ghee, and spices. In India, undhiyu is a healthy alternative to the heavier winter fare that is typically served during this season. Though it takes hours to prepare this dish, the effort that is put in at the end is well worth it. 

4. Gond Ke Laddoo:

Gond ke laddoo, is made from the edible gum that is extracted from the tree barks. This is one of those desserts that can be enjoyed all year long and use its unique nutritional benefits to ward off the winter blues. The Ladoo is supposed to heat your insides and keeps you warm. Once prepared, it can be stored for several weeks or even months at a time. 

5. Pittha:

Pittha is basically a dish from Bihar, which has different varieties. It is mainly made from rice flour, which has the stuffing either dal, or seseme seeds , sometimes khoya and Gud, which is then steamed. It is prepared mostly during Sankranti and is very healthy in addition to keeping the body really warm.

6. Panjiri:

Panjiri is a kind of sweet dish which is made from wheat flour and ghee with so many nuts in it. The goodness of nut and ghee keeps body fit and warm.

7. Malai Makkhan:

Malai Makhan, also called Khimish or Daulat ki Chaat, as a seasonal beverage from October to March. It tastes light yet is rich. Cream and milk are churned to create a frothy texture for this beverage. It is then garnished with saffron, khoya, or dry fruits. It's ideally served with a substantial breakfast on a winter morning.

8. Paranthe:

Parathas are a famous Indian flatbread, made by rolling out a dough and pan-cooking it with ghee or oil. They are available in a variety of fillings, typically with paneer, methi, palak , or spicy potatoes. A comforting and adaptable dish, that are commonly eaten with yogurt, pickles, or a dollop of butter.
