It is said that no auspicious work should be performed during a lunar eclipse. It is forbidden to worship and do puja during this time. Therefore, worship God or doing any kind of auspicious work during the lunar eclipse.

  • In order to avoid the negative effect of lunar eclipse, take the name of your god and worship him in mind.
  • Mantras related to lunar eclipse and mantras related to 'Rahu-Ketu' should be recited.
  • One can donate after the end of the lunar eclipse. It is considered best to donate flour, rice, sugar, whole black gram, black sesame seeds, black cloth, etc. This also reduces the ill-effect of a lunar eclipse.
  • It is considered effective to recite 'Hanuman Chalisa', 'Vishnu Sahastranama', 'Durga Chalisa' and 'Shrimad Bhagwat Gita' during a lunar eclipse. Therefore, these can be recited throughout the lunar eclipse.
