Karwa Chauth 2022: Chant These Mantras For The Long Life And Happiness Of Your Husband

During Karwa Chauth, special devotion is offered to Bholenath, Mata Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Karwa Mata, and the Moon.

New Delhi: Karwa Chauth is widely regarded as prosperous by all married women, particularly in the Northern parts of the country where it is mostly observed by Hindus and Sikhs. It acknowledges the unbreakable tie between a husband and wife. On this day, married women often fast until moonrise. They adhere to strict customs, wear vibrant clothing, and henna on their hands, and pray for the long life of their husbands. Nowadays, men have also started participating alongside their spouses in this ancient Hindu ceremony, defying long-held stereotypes.

Karwa Chauth Mantra: Ways to break fast if the moon is not sighted

In the past, it was customary for women to break their fast after daybreak on the next day if they were unable to see the moon on Karwa Chauth. Here are some other methods to break your fast if the moon is not visible because of clouds or rain since ladies may not be able to sustain themselves for these long hours.

  • Women can apologise, worship the moon that is perched above Lord Shiva, and break their fast.
  • Women are permitted by law to summon and worship the moon deity. They can then break their fast and offer prayers to Maa Lakshmi after this.
  • Women may break their fast and offer prayers to Maa Lakshmi while facing the direction in which the moon will rise.
  • To end the fast, women might alternatively make a rice moon on a plate and worship it.
