Chaitra Navratri 2023: Know When Is Vasanta Navratri Starting. Details Inside

Chaitra Navratri 2023: Beginning on March 22, Chaitra Navratri is one of the most important Hindu festivals. Know the correct festival dates.

Chaitra Navratri, also known as Vasant Navratri, is one of the most auspicious Hindu festivals celebrated in March or April by devotees of Goddess Durga. It is a nine-day celebration dedicated to the worship of Maa Durga's nine incarnations.

On these days, people fast and worship the Goddess. Hindus celebrate Ram Navami on the last day of Chaitra Navratri to commemorate Lord Rama's birth. The celebrations start on the first day of the Hindu Lunar-Solar calendar. Also, most rituals performed at Shardiya Navratri, which takes place in September or October, are also conducted during Chaitra Navratri.

This year, there is some confusion over the start date of Chaitra Navratri. Although some say it will be on March 21, others believe it will be on March 22. If you are having the same issue, we are here to help you.

Correct Dates For Chaitra Navratri 2023:

The nine-day Chaitra Navratri festival will begin on March 22 and end on March 30 this year. Pratipada Tithi in Chaitra month begins at 10:52 pm on March 21 and ends at 8:20 pm on March 22, according to Drik Panchang, while Meena Lagna lasts from 6:23 am to 7:32 am on March 22.

On March 22, the Ghat Sthapana, also known as the Kalash Sthapana, will be conducted. The muhurat will be in effect from 6:23 am until 7:32 am. Ghatasthapana is a crucial ceremony during Navratri since it symbolises the beginning of the nine-day festival.

The Chaitra Navratri festival celebrates Goddess Durga's nine incarnations: Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skanda Mata, Katyayani, Kaalratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri.

During Navratri, each of the nine days is dedicated to different forms of the Goddess Shakti. The majority of the customs and rituals observed at Shardiya Navratri, which occurs in September or October, are also observed during Chaitra Navratri. The Ghatasthapana Puja Vidhi for Shardiya and Chaitra Navratri is the same.

Northern India celebrates Chaitra Navratri more. Chaitra Navratri begins with Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra and Ugadi in Andhra Pradesh.
