Boy beats his friend to death with cricket bat!

New Delhi: A 19-year-old boy allegedly killed his friend by hitting him with a bat following a heated argument while playing cricket at a park in southwest Delhi's Sagarpur area, police said today. The incident took place around 5.30 PM yesterday when four youths, Shivam, Akash and two of them named Amit, were playing cricket at Buddha Jayanti Park. While Amit was bowling and his namesake was fielding, Shivam was the batsman and Akash was the one behind the stumps. Shivam tried to pull a delivery and the ball hit Akash, a police official said. Akash (19) was infuriated over it and entered into a heated argument with Shivam (17). He suddenly snatched the bat from Shivam and hit him hard after which Shivam collapsed, the official said. The three got nervous when Shivam turned totally immobile and rushed him to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where Shivam was declared brought dead. The police were informed, following which a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder was registered and Akash was arrested.
