'They Wanted To Do Serial Bomb Blasts In Bengaluru': Ex-K'taka CM Seeks NIA Probe Into Foiled Terror Plot
Former Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommbai has sought and NIA probe after Bengaluru police arrested five terror suspects.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai has sought an NIA probe into the case of the arrest of five terror suspects by Bengaluru police. Bommai said that the they were planning serial bomb blasts to disrupt the economy and peace of the capital city of the state. Talking to ANI, Bommai termed the development as a ‘huge conspiracy’ and attacked the Congress government in the state over the law and order situation.
The Police foiled an alleged ISIS-back plot to target vital installations in the state and arrested five suspects in the case. Four walkie-talkies, seven country-made pistols, 42 live bullets, two daggers, two satellite phones and four grenades have been recovered from them.

He further added, "Karnataka government is clueless about law and order, the officers are all clueless. They are all busy getting their transfers done."
Meanwhile, telling the details of the arrest, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda said, "Based on credible information, the Bengaluru City Crime Branch has been successful in preempting and preventing a possible subversive activity in the city. We have arrested five accused, from whom we have recovered seven country-made pistols, 45 live rounds, walky-talky sets, dagger and 12 mobile sets."

The Bengaluru Police has foiled an alleged ISIS-back plot to target vital installations in the state and arrested five suspects in the case. Four walkie-talkies, seven country-made pistols, 42 live bullets, two daggers, two satellite phones and four grenades have been recovered from them.
"They have been identified as Syed Suhel, Umar, Janid, Mudasir and Zahid. It is suspected that the team had planned to carry out a blast in Bengaluru. All five were accused in a 2017 murder case and were in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail where they came in contact with the terrorists. CCB has also seized explosive materials.
In the past, all of them were lodged in Parappana Agrahara Central Prison of Bangalore and where they met a few terrorists and then decided to carry out terror activities.
