On Monday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasised that the upcoming protest by the Congress government in New Delhi on February 7 is directed against the perceived 'injustice' by the Union government concerning tax devolution and grants-in-aid to the State than being targeted at the BJP.

The CM outlined the alleged instances of "injustice" faced by the state and invited the opposition BJP to participate in the agitation. They emphasised that the struggle is not against them but for the collective interest of the state.

"On February 7, all the Ministers and all MLAs of both the Houses of the legislature, also MPs, are going to agitate against the Government of India for injustice caused to Karnataka state by the 15th Finance Commission and several other issues concerning the state including grants from the Centre," Siddaramaiah told a press conference in Bengaluru.

He mentioned that the protest would take place at Jantar Mantar in the national capital and called upon BJP MPs from the state to join.

The Karnataka government escalates its tax dispute to Delhi by publishing #MyTaxMyRight advertisements in both English and Kannada newspapers ahead of tomorrow's protest in the capital. The ads comprehensively present the discrepancies in grant allocation to Karnataka.
