12-year-old found dead, family alleges rape, murder

Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Feb 19 (ANI): A minor girl was found dead in a field in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur on Sunday.

The family members of the 12-year-old girl who hailed from Raipura village in Jalalabad alleged that she was raped and then murdered.

"She went to feed the cattle yesterday after which she went missing. On searching, I found her body in the field. She was raped and then strangled to death," the victim's father told ANI.

As of now, a case has been registered against four persons and the body has been sent for an autopsy,

"The Jalalabad Police was informed that a dead body of a 12-year-old girl from Raipura village was found in a field.The body has been sent for postmortem. An investigation will be done," Subhash Chandra, ASP, Shahjahanpur told ANI. (ANI)
