Delhi Reports 1,534 Fresh Covid Cases, Positivity Rate Jumps To 7.71%. Maharashtra Logs 3,883 Infections

The recovery rate in Maharashtra is 97.85%, while the case fatality rate in the state is 1.86%.

New Delhi: Maharashtra on Saturday reported 3,883 fresh Covid-19 cases and two deaths. There are 22,828 active Covid-19 cases in the country’s fiscal capital as on Saturday. Around 2,802 patients were discharged on Saturday, taking the total number of those discharged after full recovery to 77,61,032, news agency Asian News International (ANI) reported.

The recovery rate in Maharashtra is 97.85%, while the case fatality rate in the state is 1.86%.

Out of the total 8,15,61,683 laboratory samples, 79,31,745 have tested positive (09.72%) for Covid-19 until today.

Maharashtra capital Mumbai has 10,91,635 Covid-19 cases, while there are 13,613 active cases. The number of Covid-19 patients recovered so far is 10,58,440, while 19,582 people have lost their lives so far.

Maharashtra’s Pune city has 14,58,260 Covid-19 cases, while there are 1,722 active cases. The number of Covid-19 patients recovered so far in Pune is 14,35,993, while 20,545 people have lost their lives so far.

Meanwhile, Delhi reported 1,534 fresh Covid-19 infections on Saturday. The active cases stand at 5,119, while the positivity rate is 7.71%.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said more than 193.53 crore vaccine doses have been provided to the states and Union Territories so far through the Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

The ministry added more than 12.89 crore balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories to be administered.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said the vaccination drive has been ramped up through availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to the states and Union Territories for enabling better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

The ministry said the Government of India, as part of the nationwide vaccination drive, has been supporting the states and Union Territories by providing them Covid vaccines free of cost.

The ministry added the Union Government will, in the new phase of the universalization of the Covid-19 vaccination drive, procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to the states and Union Territories.
