PM Modi, an advocate of the "Digital India" initiative throughout his tenure, reiterated his commitment to bolstering the gaming sector in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with online gamers from India on Thursday, immersing himself in the world of virtual reality (VR) games. During the interaction, ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi delved into the intricacies of the gaming industry, addressing challenges alongside the online gamers, the media has reported.

PM Modi, an advocate of the "Digital India" initiative throughout his tenure, reiterated his commitment to bolstering the gaming sector in India. He expressed his dedication to nurturing the creativity of gaming creators and fostering an environment conducive to their growth.

Meanwhile, Amit Malviya, Chief of the BJP IT cell, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a brief video capturing the prime minister's engaging interaction with gamers, as per a report by Hindustan Times. Malviya highlighted the discussions on recent advancements within the gaming industry and underscored the cenral government's acknowledgment of the pivotal role played by gamers in promoting India's gaming sector.

The prime minister engaged in dialogue with renowned Indian online gamers including Tirth Mehta, Payal Dhare, Animesh Agarwal, Anshu Bisht, Naman Mathur, Mithilesh Patankar and Ganesh Gangadhar, says a report by news agency ANI.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacts with top Indian Gamers. PM Modi also tried his hand at a few games," ANI posted on X.

The gamers also shared light-hearted moments with him, touching upon the challenges of legitimising gaming as a career in India and navigating the competitive landscape of the digital realm.

During a lighthearted exchange with the gamers, PM Modi showcased his gaming skills by trying his hand at various games. A video clip circulating on social media captured the prime minister donning a VR headset and immersing himself in popular games. The gamers were pleasantly surprised by the PM's  adeptness in grasping the essence of modern online gaming.
