OTT Round Up - Kota Factory 2 Carries Forward The Legacy, Romantic Shiddat, Gritty Ek Thi Begum 2, Dramatic Breakpoint Are The New Arrivals Of The Week
It's going to be an exciting week in the OTT space as three different stories are being told around the same time. These are Shiddat, Ek Thi Begum 2 and Breakpoint.

With great reputation comes the great responsibility. The makers of Kota Factory would indeed have felt that when they decided to bring on the second season of inarguably one of the most loved web series of all times in India. There is a definite relatability factor about this youth affair which struck the chord amongst one and all when the first season was unveiled. Now that the second season has arrived on Netflix, it has managed an even bigger reach for itself, and has yet again turned out to be a very impressive affair.
While there are a number of young actors who have continued from the first to the second season, Jitendra Kumar has shown yet again why he is irreplaceable as 'Jeetu bhaiyaa'. Adorable, and someone who indeed makes sense while looking like the character that he is playing, the actor has excelled all over again. As for the core content, it follows the ethos of what Kota Factory stands for, hence carrying forward the legacy.

Shiddat is a Netflix release and comes from the house of Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films which recently came up with Mimi. The Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi starrer stays on to be one of the most loved films of 2021 and now with Sunny Kaushal and Radhika Madan coming together for Shiddat, one expects a classy story all over again. Promo of this Kunal Deshmukh film indicates an intense love story in the offering with music playing a major part in taking forward the narrative. Originally designed for theatrical release, Shiddat is being promoted quite well.
Another release of the week is the web series Ek Thi Begum 2 on MX Player. The first season was a Hindi-Marathi affair set in the underworld of the 80s where one woman took on the biggest gangster that India has seen in the last four decades. An adult affair, courtesy liberal use of cuss words and the kind of violence that isn't everyone's cup of tea, it reached out well to those who love to consume this kind of entertainment. Now, Anuja Sathe is back as the central protagonist in S2 and the one expects the kind of drama which is grittier and edgier.
For those who dig on docudramas, there is Breakpoint on ZEE5 which tells the real life story of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi. The ace tennis players won quite a few championships during their peak but then something went wrong, post which there was a downfall, and then an eventual 'breakpoint'. Now a documentary film has been made on the turn of events from their lives, and what makes this special is the fact that wife-husband team of Ashwini Iyer Tiwari [Bareilly Ki Barfi, Panga] and Nitesh Tiwari [Dangal, Chhichhore] are directing this.
