Uttarakhand Glacier Collapse: Akshay Kumar, Sonu Sood And Other B’Town Celebs Send Prayers To The Affected People

While the relief operation is going on in full swing, people from around the world have been sending in prayers for the people of Uttarakhand. Read on.

New Delhi: In a recent turn of unfortunate events, a massive flood hit the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand earlier today. Reportedly, at least 150 people are feared missing after the water level in the Dhauliganga river rose suddenly. This led to an avalanche near a power project at Raini village in Tapovan area of the district.

While the relief operation is going on in full swing, people from around the world have been sending in prayers for the people of Uttarakhand. Our Bollywood celebrities including Sonu Sood, Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar and many other B’Town celebrities have also been praying for the well-being of the affected people.

 

Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter and wrote, “Terrifying visuals of the glacier burst in #Uttarakhand, thoughts and prayers for everyone’s safety”.

Sonu Sood also prayed for the safety of the people of Uttarakhand. He tweeted in Hindi, “Uttarakhand we are with you.”

Meanwhile, 2 dams that were being constructed under Rishi Ganga Project have been washed out. Though there has been no official confirmation, it is being feared that people who were working on this project today drowned in the flood. Also, a high alert has been issued in Uttar Pradesh and CM Yogi Adityanath has asked the forces to be prepared.
