'I'll Be There For You': Our Favorite Moments From 'Friends: The Reunion' Episode

The 'Friends: The Reunion' episode is a treat to the legion of fans, who have enjoyed the bond and friendship of the six main characters of the show.

Mumbai: ‘Oh, My God!’ This was our first reaction when we saw our very own Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe together on the special reunion episode of hit sitcom ‘FRIENDS’. The fans went crazy after seeing the six actors of the classic series together after 17 long years. The 104-minute-long episode took the fans on an emotional ride as the actors re-created some of their popular scenes from the show. Viewers from all across the globe waited with bated breath to watch their favorite stars from ‘Friends’.  

‘Friends: The Reunion’ was all about the six main actors, who comfortably sat on the orange sofa (which reminded us of Central Perk) and shared several behind-the-scenes trivia with the host. To quote Chandler Bing- ‘Could It Be More Exciting?’

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry recreated some of their iconic scenes, making us laugh and cry at the same time. We won't lie. We did grab a box of tissues while watching the episode.  

‘Could I Be Wearing Anymore Clothes?’ 

We all loved Chandler and Joey’s bromance, right? But Joey did get mad at our Chan-Chan man for hiding his underwear during the episode 'The One Where No One's Ready' from the third season. 

Matt LeBlanc recreated the popular scene wherein he wore all of Chandler’s clothes to take revenge on him for making him ‘go commando’ in a rented tux. 

Lady Gaga Sings Phoebe’s Smelly Cat’  

You are not a ‘Friends’ fan if you don’t know the lyrics of ‘Smelly Cat’. The song was first featured in the episode ‘The One with the Baby on the Bus’ in season two. Over the years, it become the show’s most used running gag.  

Singer Lady Gaga joined Lisa Kudrow on stage while she was crooning the song, which was will always remain synonymous with the character of Phoebe. Guess what? ‘Smelly Cat’ is one of Lady Gaga’s favorite songs and we are not surprised.  

Mr. Heckles Is BACKKKK! 

A strong supporting cast plays an integral role in making a show popular. The makers of ‘Friends’ had roped in some of the best actors, who did justice to their roles and made them memorable. The reunion episode featured Mr. Heckles aka Larry Hankin, who often complained about the noise which Rachel and Monica apparently made. 

Richard (Tom Selleck), Janice (Maggie Wheeler), Jack (Elliot Gould) and Judy Geller (Christiana Pickles) also made brief yet sweet appearances in the reunion episode.  

The Trivia Quiz 

‘The One with the Embryos’ is one of my personal favorite episodes of ‘Friends’. Thankfully, the actors recreated the scene from season four during the reunion.  

Schwimmer aka Ross turned quizmaster after 23 long years for the special segment. The girls, Courteney and Jennifer competed against the boys, Matt and Matthew in the trivia quiz. Interestingly, the makers designed new set of questions in addition to the ones from the quiz episode.  

Can you tell ‘What is Chandler’s job?’ Sorry, he is not a ‘transpondster'. 

JenVid ‘Crushing Hard’ On Each Other 

David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston’s sizzling chemistry grabbed several eyeballs while the show was on air. Well, we now know the secret behind their scintillating chemistry.  

Aniston and Schwimmer revealed that they had a crush on each other during the early phase of the show. David said that one of them was always in a relationship and they could never unite in real life. 

"We just channeled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel,” Aniston said.  

Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing and Ross Geller will always remain in our hearts. The reunion was like a cherry on the cake. ‘Friends’ never ended for the die-hard fans. We start the binge-watch session from the first episode again after enjoying the final one. That's the beauty of 'Friends'.
