RIP Shashikala: Tanvi Hegde Aka Son Pari's Frooty Shares Emotional Post To Mourn Her Ajji's Death

Tanvi Hegde penned a heartfelt post for her on-screen grandmother Shashikala, who passed away on April 4.

Veteran actress Shashikala Om Prakash Saigal, fondly known for playing supporting roles in various films, passed away on April 4, 2021. She was 88. Shashikala’s ‘Son Pari’ co-star Tanvi Hegde aka Frooty penned a heartfelt post for ‘Ajji’ on social media.

Tanvi got emotional while penning her thoughts on her Instagram story. She revealed that Shashikala would call her to the room and tell her different stories when she was alone on sets.

“Whenever I was alone on sets, she would call me to her room and tell me stories. She would tell me about the movies she acted in, the people she met, her experiences and everything in between,” the actress wrote.

Tanvi shared a throwback picture with Shashikala and revealed the most important thing which the actress told her. She also said that the veteran actress took proper care of her on the sets of Son Pari.

Like a typical Ajji she would make study when I was free. Tell me to eat healthy, stay off the phone. She would tell me how to talk and walk and act. But the most important thing she told me is how to be assertive and vocal about my thoughts,” she wrote.

Veteran actor Dharmendra posted a throwback picture with Shashikala to mourn her demise. He expressed his grief on Twitter and called his ‘Aap Ki Parchhaiyan’ co-star a ‘versatile artist.’

“I am extremely sad to know that our Shashikala is no more.... A versatile artist, most loving person. May God bless her soul be in peace,” the ‘Sholay’ actor tweeted.

On the professional front, Shashikala worked in many films including 'Neela Aakash', 'Chhoti Si Mulaqat', 'Shatranj', 'Ahista Ahista', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' and 'Baadshah', to name a few.
