REVEALED: This is why Karan Patel didn’t attend co-star Divyanka’s wedding

New Delhi: Fans of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein were wondering why lead actor Karan Patel did not attend the wedding of co-star and good friend Divyanka Tripathi. Now, the actor himself opened up about it and said that the makers of the popular Star Plus show couldn’t afford to not have both their main leads. While talking to leading daily Hindustan Times Karan Patel revealed that, "I wanted to be there for Divyanka’s wedding. However, as the show couldn’t afford to not have both their main leads, it was difficult for me (to take time off from the show). I had to stay back to hold fort. I could not miss out on the reception. I had missed the wedding but this one was a must-attend." If reports are to be believed, the production team have asked Karan to take an off on Divyanka's wedding and shoot on Eid, but he give the wedding a miss and chose to take an off on the festival. However, Karan and his actress wife Ankita Bhargava attended Divyanka and Vivek's reception party in Mumbai. The actor shared that he and his wife Ankita “enjoyed” Divyanka’s reception party. “My life is an open book. You’re welcome to speculate. It was a lovely evening where we all got together. I enjoyed myself and am sure every one else did too. My family and I wish Divyanka and Vivek a happy married life,” he said. Divyanka married actor Vivek Dahiya on July 8 in Bhopal and had a reception party in Chandigarh. The couple threw a grand reception for their friends from the industry on July 14 in Mumbai.
