PESHWA BAJIRAO: Meet grown-up ‘Kashibai’

New Delhi: Sony Entertainment Television’s historical show ‘Peshwa Bajirao’ is going to take huge leap very soon. Story will then jump to young Bajirao’s life. Bollywood film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ gave a glimpse of Peshwa’s life. The two important women in his life were Mastani and his wife Kashibai. We all know how Bajirao and Mastani met but we don’t know how Kashibai and Bajirao met and how they fell in love with each other. Sony TV show ‘Peshwa Bajirao’ will throw light on this aspect only. So in the role of Kashibai, makers have finalized TV actress Ishita Ganguly, who earlier was to play lead role in ‘Porus’. According to news in TOI, “With the historical show, 'Peshwa Bajirao', soon taking a time leap, the 'Shastri Sisters' actress will step into the shoes of Dipali Borkar to play the grown-up queen.” Confirming the news to leading portal, “Kashibai is an iconic historical figure, and I feel fortunate to have bagged the part. The child artistes have done a swell job and the viewers are used to watching them. So, I find it extremely challenging to step into their shoes. I will try my level best to do justice to the role."
