Nouran Aly Opens Up on ‘Love Jihad’ Accusations After Vivian Dsena Converted To Islam: 'He Was Christian...'

Vivian Dsena's wife Nouran Aly opened up about the trials their relationship faced early on, including accusations of "love jihad" after Vivian converted to Islam and tied the knot with Nouran in 2022.

Vivian Dsena, one of Indian television’s most acclaimed actors, is currently seen in 'Bigg Boss 18'. Recently, the actor’s wife Nouran Aly went inside the Bigg Boss house to support her husband. Her strong personality and the bond between the two won the audience's hearts. Following her stint on Bigg Boss 18, Nouran opened up about the trials their relationship faced early on, including accusations of "love jihad" after Vivian converted to Islam. Vivian embraced Islam in 2019 and tied the knot with Nouran Aly in 2022.

Nouran Aly on being accused of love jihad

In an interview with Galatta India, Nouran spoke about the difficulties they endured due to societal pressure and their different cultural backgrounds. Nouran spoke about the challenges, saying, “I was accused of love jihad for converting Vivian to Islam. He also faced trolling on social media, and maybe it affected his work pattern too. We have a lot of differences in terms of belief or language barrier, I had very clearly told him that in my religion, I could not do an interfaith marriage with him, it is not acceptable on my side and I respect that.”

Vivian Dsena was not Hindu, he was Christian

Nouran also revealed that she broke up with Vivian for almost six months because of their cultural differences. “Just to clarify, he was not Hindu; he was Christian. Christianity and Islam are both Abrahamic religions, so they have the same core. But in my religion, women don't convert, I stayed away for six months because I was very worried and scared wondering if he would do this for me,” Nouran added.

Vivian’s personal commitment to Islam

Nouran shared how Vivian’s decision to convert was entirely his own, driven by personal conviction. “I thought the society won’t spare us, if he changed his religion for a woman, secondly, he would regret later if I didn’t meet his expectations. It was a big step. We didn’t speak for six months, and I would not respond to his messages, but then I got to know from a mutual friend that he kept studying my religion. I had zero interference in this, he met people, and then after six months, he told my friends that he wanted to speak with me. He said he was ready to convert, not for me but for himself, so even if I was not with him he would have adopted Islam. It took me 1-2 weeks to believe him that he was doing it for himself, I didn’t want him to be cut off from his roots for me.”

Nouran and Vivian’s relationship has become a talking point among fans, who admire their love. Nouran’s assertive yet graceful personality on Bigg Boss 18 has earned her widespread praise, further strengthening the couple’s bond in the eyes of the audience.
