Namah LEAD Vikkas Manaktala Makes EXIT From Show Within A Month, THIS Actor To REPLACE Him

Vikkas Manaktala, who plays the role of Lord Shiva in Star Plus' Namah, will make an exit from the show.

New Delhi: Star Plus’ ‘Namah’ was launched with several expectations last month but the show has failed to perform well in the TRP charts. The blend of mythology and fantasy couldn’t strike a chord with the TV viewers. The show starring Vikkas Manaktala and Savi Thakur is fetching a TRP of less than one. The makers of the show are all set to revamp ‘Namah’ and one of the lead actors will make an exit. We are talking about Vikas Manaktala, who plays the role of Lord Shiva in ‘Namah’. The actor will make an exit from the show as the track of Shiva will be reduced drastically. The show’s producer Ved Raj, while talking to a leading daily, said that they have reworked the storyline of ‘Namah’. He added that Tarun Khanna will replace Vikkas Manaktala as the new Lord Shiva in the show. ‘’We tried to blend mythology with fantasy, which hasn’t managed to strike a chord with the audience. Also, mythological shows mostly focus on just one God, but in our show, we tried to highlight the bond and friendship between Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. We have reworked the storyline and are focusing on Lord Vishnu (played by Savi Thakur). The track of Shiva will be reduced considerably, hence the decision to release Vikkas. We decided to rope in Tarun, as has played Shiva earlier and wanted someone who will be instantly accepted by the audience,’’ Ved told Times Of India. Namah LEAD Vikkas Manaktala Makes EXIT From Show Within A Month, THIS Actor To REPLACE Him (Source- Star Plus) Vikas also opened up about his exit from the show. “Yes, my agreement with Namah is over. It’s a mutual decision that has been taken by the production house and me. Low ratings and a lack of connect with the audience are the two reasons for this creative call. Since it’s a finite series, a lot of changes creatively and within the team have happened to make the show viable for the makers. This is what I have been told. I had a small journey, and the feedback has been positive. I am now moving forward to the next chapter,” the ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ told TOI.

He later went on to do shows like 'Main Naa Bhoolungi' and 'Ghulaam'. ‘Namah’ was his first mythological show.
